Songlines depict and name the labyrinth of invisible pathways which meander all over Australia and are to the indigenous peoples Footprints of the Ancestors or the Way of the Lore. Another title, as the Europeans have previously given them, are Dreaming-tracks. Aboriginal Creation myths tell of the legendary totemic being who wandered over the continent in the Dreamtime, singing out the name of everything that crossed their pathed tracjectories - animals, insects, plants, rocks, waterholes - and so sang the world into existence, as continues today on a more subterranean level. [Bruce Chatwin, 1987]

UDMA is:

Shota Matsumura - trumpet, vocals, om box, tambourine
Aemon Webb - drums, field recordings, keys, thundertube

Recorded at Mattress Cave, Leichhardt, Sydney, Australia, and surrounds in June-October, 2014. Produced by UDMA. Mastered by Kutt Garcia at SamSingSongSung Studios in November 2014. Thanks to the Lorrikeets and the legends for the recordings. Cover photo by Jack Menzies, colour treatment and design by Aemon Webb. Made on Gadigal land, this land was not peacefully ceded.
