Appearing before us all is a Global Paradigm Shift. The impact of a pandemic and the impact of the media. For Australia, this is realised through social distancing and two player confinement. We wait to see how it unfolds. Coinciding the Fear Inoculum tour and the Coronavirus, this music was performed before the latter and after the former. But it has been released now and we witness benevolence with sadness unfold.

Two years since the Landlord Neighbour EP was performed [ from no rehearsed scores or compositional agenda ] Viking Ringo's sound has become more angular and minimal. Attempting tension in the electricity of My Disco, grooving with the equanimity of Dr. Dylan Carlson and Adrienne Davies, and enlivened with the theme and variation of a Damo Suzuki improvisation, the Distance In Absence EP interprets this through only guitar and drums. The two-person limitation results are precise in timbral inflection, pronounced in accent flexibility, and rolling in pulsing drone.
