Splintercourse is a cross-section of music that enables you to explore areas of a strange geometry. These tracks were created in 2007-08; mainly during long digital sessions lasting a few days at a time. The album is created from a place that is almost completely impossible to recall. Most of it is made of tooth-sand glass, sounds sculpted amongst silicon and magnets. Athrotaxis breaks away from previous synaesthetic configurations of composition in order to attempt carving new territory; where new associative architecture is possible. Similar to debut album Harp [http://etchmusic.bandcamp.com/album/harp], this album is largely created with electronic synthesisers through computer composition. Athrotaxis departs from colour and warmth in order to render some less definable characteristics, also creating a level of sexual energy through the tempos.
